This course aims to introduce basic concepts, theories and knowledge of human resource management comprehensively and systematically, and analyze principles and methods that should be followed by an organization to provide and maintain efficient human resource management. Overseas students are expected to, through the study of this course, master human resource managerial work in the process of recruitment, employment, training, incentives-providing, performance-appraising, compensation management, employment relations management, employee safety and health management, etc. so as to lay a solid theoretical foundation for human resource management work and reserve affluent knowledge for human resource management practice in future. This course attaches importance to combining theory with practice, integrates human resource management practice of enterprises in Asian countries with introduction of theories to enhance the practicability and enjoyment of teaching contents on the one hand, and to improve the skills and ability of overseas students for application of enterprise HR knowledge in practice on the other hand. According to the teaching characteristics of human resource management course, various types of teaching methods will be employed based on multi-media teaching, such as group discussion, case study, role playing and simulation exercises. Besides, senior HR managers will be invited to share experiences and exchange ideas with students in workshops. After the completion of lectures, students will be required to conduct a survey in an enterprise to apply what they have learned to practice.
